Bout of Books Read-a-thon Day 1

Bout of Books

I finished the first day of my first ever Bout of Books (or any other for that matter)  read-a-thon.

Yay! I also participated in my first ever Twitter chat. Comments were flying so fast and furious that my computer froze several times. As a techno-idiot, I’m still trying to understand the whole Twitter phenom, but I made a little progress. Case in point, I spent a whole lot of time on help sites trying to figure out how to jump in. Turns out, you have to sign in. Told you I’m techno=challenged. Overall, I had fun on my first day although I wish I could have spent more time reading. But here’s my progress:

Book: The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Thoughts: I’m not sure how I first came across this book except that I know it was from a blog review. Perhaps Stainless Steel Droppings or Books Without Any Pictures? My addled brain supplies no clues. Anyhow, this is yet another dystopian young adult novel à la The Hunger Games or Divergent. My initial impression is that this book may offer more in the way of character development than either of the other two. Too early to tell though. We definitely already experienced a dark moment for which the protagonist Thomas feels responsible. The plot thickens. Tune in tomorrow.
