Blogging A to Z 2016 theme reveal
Blogging A to Z 2016 theme reveal
It’s that time of year! Blogging A to Z 2016 is coming April 1!
Just in case you need a refresher: Arlee Bird started Blogging A to Z in 2010 as a way to bring bloggers together. The rules are these: Starting April 1st, for 26 days, write a post for each letter of the alphabet.
And you just know that’s a challenge for me as I keep no schedule, just sort of plop out those blog posts when I feel like it. I succeeded in the 2015 challenge, however, only missing two letters.
If you blog, please consider joining in the fun! You can sign up for Blogging A to Z 2016 here.
Without further ado, here is my theme:
Theme: Book-ish Ghosts
Not to be confused with Bookish Ghosts, although some of the ghosts mentioned will be learned.
For the A to Z 2016 challenge, I will blog about ghosts in books. The “ish” in book-ish comes from the Urban Dictionary and means kind of/sort of, usually added to a word or phrase. So, while many of the ghosts in my A to Z challenge will come from books, a few will come from movies; hence, book-ish.
And that’s not all! During the challenge I will host a contest…with actual prizes. Here are the details:
Contest Rules
Each day of the challenge I will post a clue or two related to that day’s book, movie, or ghost. Leave a comment with your guess. The following day I will reveal the answer to the previous day’s question. At the end of the A to Z challenge, I will count up correct guesses and award the winners. In the event that more than one person has the identical amount of correct answers, I will put those names in a hat and draw the winning name(s). Must be 18 years of age or older to win.
Prizes
First prize: One winner will receive a $50 Amazon US gift card. (If the first prize winner is a non-US resident, he/she will receive a Moonlight Dancer mug and an ebook.
Second prize: Two winners will receive a Moonlight Dancer mug
Third prize: Three winners will receive a Moonlight Dancer or 31 Ghost Novels to Read Before You Die ebook.
So, bop on over April 1 and let’s have some fun! Are you in?
And don’t worry, by May 1st I promise to return to my irresponsible and lackadaisical blogging habits.

I’m doing fictional ghosts too – I look forward to seeing which ones you have picked 🙂 See if we crossover at any points 😀

Oh, yay! I’ll be stopping by for sure. Are you a ghost fan from way back? I am!
Ok – pretty spooky but I’m sure I can brave the theme and take part!
Ha ha! I’m so glad. I promise it won’t be too scary. In fact, most ghost novels and movies I love are not of the horror variety. I like thrilling but not gorey. Glad you came by.
What a fun theme – and delightful challenge.
Thanks, Deborah. I hope readers and bloggers have fun. I love to guess things myself.
So fun! Can’t wait to participate! Awesome theme!
It will be fun to have you as a participant, Tawnya!
Hey, I think you and I are blog kindred spirits! (Pun intended.) I blog whenever I feel like it too, except in April when my blog posts actually come out every day.
I can’t wait to meet some great book-ish ghosts!
Ah, so you understand the challenge (pun intended) of writing every day just as I do. We’ll take a collective deep breath and jump in. Here’s to our success!
I’ll be watching for clues! I can’t wait to see what books and movies you choose!

Excellent, Julie. I look forward to having you along for the ride!
Visiting you on theme reveal day. I’m sure your choice will bring you new readership. See you in April.
Thank you, Stepheny. I’ll watch for you in April.
Entertaining theme. My second time (only) coming across fictional ghosts as an A-Z theme this time. You’ll have fun and so will your readers. Have a wonderful challenge.
Best wishes.
Nilanjana,
Thank you, Nilanjana. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking of clues, so I guess I’m already having fun! Thanks for the good wishes.
You mention ghosts… and I an in 🙂

Ha ha! That about sums it up for me, too! So let’s talk ghosts, you and I. I’m hopping over to your blog and hoping to see some ghost talk there.
Hi, it’s me, the chick who stole ( borrowed) your theme from last year) well sort of, I took your idea and used it in my own way. Okay I stole it. I committed a crime, I do believe, but I really liked it. It truly inspired me. Let’s see how that argument works in front of a judge, huh? I really like your theme this year, but don’t worry, I won’t steal it. I will, however be back to read every post. I hope they are scary. I love scary ghost stories. You have such a creative imagination. What a cool idea to throw in the bonus contest. That will make it so much more fun for your readers and it will keep them coming back each day. Interactive A to Z blogging themes are my absolute favorite. I did one last year and it’s a lot of work on the blog authors part so I wish you luck. Take care and have a great month. The design team working on my blog just told me that they are taking down all my widgets/gadgets so my blog will load. An empty blog is better than one that won’t load. They will get everything fixed before the challenge, but I was freaking out because of the theme revel and the loading time issue. I’m looking forward to getting to know you better during the challenge.
Well, you’ve definitely got me intrigued. And I’m keeping my fingers crossed for your blog recovery. I’m so sorry you’ve had such difficulties. I’ve been by your blog and will look forward to going again when you’re up and running. Now here’s the funny part: I stole from you, too. I had never thought about doing a contest but was so impressed with yours. So here we are trading places!
booo……………that’s just a ghost looking for its host. Sounds very fun and spooky too for April
Ah, and it’s not even Halloween! See you in April, Joanne.
I love books and I love ghosts, so you’re theme is a winner for me! See you in April 🙂
Debbie
Ghosts and books go together for me, too. Here’s to all the fun we’ll have in April!
Have fun with your ghosts. I wrote one into my second Princelings book, and it was scary writing it – but very tame when I read it back!
Jemima Pett
Thanks, Jemima. It’s so fun that you scared yourself with your own writing. That sounds like a win to me!
You’ve thrown down the gauntlet and I’ve accepted the challenge–I’ll be back to try my hand at guessing your ghosts! Gail at Making Life An Art
Hi Gail. I’m so pleased you have accepted the challenge! Let the guessing begin! See you in April.
What a fun theme! I will definitely be back in April to read about some book-ish ghosts.
Excellent! I’ll look for you then.
I’m looking forward to reading your A to Z posts!
